INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPERATING

No table is included in the shipment, as you can supply your own table to suit your own requirements. After you have decided on the lenght of table required for your work, select good, straight-grained seasoned planks 2" think to build a table 7" wide. Use cleats across the bottom of the table to hold it. together.

Attach a 2"x4 along the back edge of the table, keeping the lower edge even. Avoid putting any screws or spikes where the saw will cut into them. Lay the finished table on the machine, Check it to to see that it is square with the saw blade. Use wedges and shims if necessary to get the table square with the blade. Attach the table to the frame with screws or bolts through the holes provided in the frame.

Now raise the beam adjustment to the hightest point with the bandwheel at the top of the beam. The clamping screws must be loosened before you can turn the handwheel. Lower the adjustment a little at a time, pulling the running blade through the surface of the table. Lock the beam adjustment in this poisition by tightening the clamping screws in the back of the beam.

SPEED

With a V-belt drive, any speed is possible. However, if you purchast the complete machine, it will be rigged to operate at the most efficient speed.

OPERATION

Lay the material to be cut flat on the table and press it back against the bak stop. 'Pull the saw into the cut with a steady motion. the saw into the work. It is a saw and not a knofe, so it must have time to cut. With a little time and practice, the operator will be able to get the "feel" of the machinery, so that he can obtain the maximum cutting efficiency.

GUARDS

The operator will have to avoid reaching under the guard. It is also not safe to saw small pieces of material that require fingers to be within a few inches of the blade. The belts are carefully guarded to prevent the operator from coming in contact with them. The blade must not extend beyojnd the edge of the table.

NOTE BE SURE THE MACHINE IS PROPERLY GROUNDED WITH THE GROUND WIRE PROVIDED BEFORE OPERATING. AND ELECTRICAL INTERLOCK KEEPS THE MACHINE FROM AUTOMATICALLY RESTARTING AFTER POWER FAILURE. THIS IS INCLUDED WITH THE SWITCH.
